Planning and implementation of relational database applications. Normalization. SQL query language.

Prerequisites

Utilizing Information Networks and Introduction to Programming (recommended).

Passing the course

Examination is not needed on this course. Course assignment is required from everyone. After doing the assignment the course is passed and you get "Accepted" as your grade.

Registration to the course and demonstration groups

You must register to the course with Korppi.

• C.J.Date: An Introduction to Database Systems
• Elmasri & Navathe: Fundamentals of Database Systems

Lectures

20 hours beginning from 4.3.2002 on mondays and thursdays 16-18 in AgA102. Lectures are in finnish.

Demonstrations

14 hours. Demonstrations begin in week 11 (11.3.2002). Instructions for the demonstrations are available in english.
