• Word processing - introduction to word processing programs.
• Spreadsheet applications - introduction to spreadsheet programs.
• Presentation graphics - introduction to presentation programs.
• You learn to use programs and their features effectively.
• You learn to make a little spreadsheet application.
• Course offers good basics about Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Very useful and recommended course for all students!

Prerequisites

Required preliminary knowledge for this course: Preliminary Course in Information Technology. Recommended: Introduction to Programming or corresponding knowledge.

Requirements

Exercise work. The dates are informed later. Lectures and exercises are optional.

Registration to the course and exercise groups

Registration should be done with Korppi.

The handout is written in Finnish. Shop Kampus-kirja sells handouts. If you are a student at open University, pick up the handout from office AgC431.2 or from some lecture.

Lectures

20 hours, lectured in Finnish. Alternative material in english is also available

Exercises

16 hours are kept in computer class-rooms in Agora.

• Demo 2 - Editing and creating styles
• Demo 3 - Document template, word processing tools and spreadsheet basics
• Demo 4 - Spreadsheet functions
• Demo 5 - Making charts and using group mode
• Demo 6 - Spreadsheet tools and database functions
• Demo 7 - Recording and using macros
• Demo 8 - Presentation graphics

Assignment

The course includes one exercise work. More specified description about the execise work can be found from the course homepage. English instructions are now available.

Exams

There is no exam in this course! Only the exercise work is required to pass the course!
